The short film festival CONTRAPLANO from Segovia celebrates in its second edition the competition SEGOVIA RUEDA, in which the two finalists of the competition must shoot a short film during the festival, who’s main theme must include the following field: “The Moon”
The SEGOVIA 2016 OFFICE, promotes this competition with a double aim of inspiring cultural production and obtaining cinematographic material for promoting the city and its candidacy of European Capital of Culture in the year 2016.
Each director entering the competition must present his audio-visual curriculum and a sinopsis ofthe short film he wishes todevelop, with the restriction of only 3 synopsis per director. Amongst all synopsis received, two finalists will be selected, who’s prize shall consist of a grant awarded by SEGOVIA 2016, valued in 2.016 € assigned to the shooting of the short film. With this grant they must develop the awarded synopsis, shooting the short film during the festival and including scenes of exteriors and emblematic places of Segovia.
The UVA University Campus of Segovia and the SEK University of Segovia will cooperate by offering spaces to shoot, equipment and facilities.
The prize for the best short film of SEGOVIA RUEDA will be awarded by the cinematographic laboratory TECHNICOLOR, which shall consist of a wide range of cinematographic services valued in 3.000€.
- The film must be at least 10 minutes long.
- The interiors and exteriors must belong to the city of Segovia. The city must be identifiable.
- The main theme of the short film must be “The Moon”.
- The starting credits must include separately the logos of the short film festival CONTRAPLANO of Segovia, the SEGOVIA 2016 logo, and the TECHNICOLOR logo, and beneath each logo the following text must appear:
- Also the logos of the UVA Campus of Segovia and the SEK University of Segovia must appear separately as collaborators.
- In the end credits, the places where the film was shot in Segovia must be quoted.
- The short film must be shot completely during the week in which the festival will be celebrated.
The winning Project will be nominated by the organization of the festival and the SEGOVIA 2016 office amongst the two finalists and will be announced in the closing ceremony of the current edition of the festival.
Special mention will be given to the other finalist’s work.
The two resulting short films of said competition will serve as promotion of SEGOVIA 2016 and CONTRAPLANO, the directors of said works allowing the free use and distribution of the short films without lucrative means. This does not imply any kind of copyright concession by the directors.
- The two finalist synopsis will receive a grant of 2016 € for the production of the short film during the festival. The grant will be assigned to the director.
- The two finalist short films will have at there disposal the material offered by the UVA Campus of Segovia and the SEK University of Segovia for the production of the short itself.
- The winning short film will be assigned 3.000 € paid in a wide range of cinematographic services, awarded by the cinematographic laboratory TECHNICOLOR. The work will be carried out in TECHNICOLOR.
- The organization holds the right to withdraw the grant if the short film does not show a minimum audio-visual quality.
· The Segovia 2016 office the Segovia Film Office, offers itself to facilitate in any way posible locations and exterior filming.
· All participants, for the fact of being one, fully accept the current competition regulations, as with the resolutions by the Organization of any problem not included in the regulations.
Both the synopsis as the director’s curriculum will be sent in the same email to the following adress: info@contraplano.info with the following subject
: Segovia rueda.
When the email is recieved, a confirmation email will be sent in which the number of synopsis recieved shall be indicated along with the code assigned to each one by the organization.
The deadline for recieving the synopsis is March 18th and the two finalists will be announced on March 25th.
